Salto Salto IQ.

Salto IQ is the gateway that puts a Salto cloud deployment online: it bridges BLUEnet (and RFnet) wireless locks to the cloud so a property can manage access in real time from Salto KS or the Nebula platform. With an IQ on site you issue and revoke mobile keys, see live door status, and run remote openings without walking to a lock. It comes in a few sizes for different footprints: the full KS IQ hub and IQ3 for a building, and the WiFi-only IQ3 Mini for a small site or a single area, with Ethernet, PoE, WiFi, or cellular (SIM) connectivity depending on the model. One IQ covers a cluster of nearby locks; larger or spread-out buildings use repeaters and additional gateways to fill in coverage. The cellular option matters for sites without reliable wired internet, keeping the building managed even when the local network drops.

Integrations
Salto IQ connects to hotel PMS, guest-journey, and check-in platforms through Salto’s integration ecosystem, which is extensive and updated frequently. Rather than freeze a partial list, we point you to Salto’s own directory for the current set.
The IQ is the connectivity layer for the Salto KS / Nebula cloud; integrations are handled by the platform, not the gateway.

Where we install Salto IQ
- CommercialMulti-site and single-building commercial operators running Salto KS in the cloud.
- MultifamilyCloud-managed residential buildings where doors need real-time control.
Salto IQ models we configure
Salto IQ is a family, not a single SKU. These are the specific models and variants we spec and install, each on its own page with its configuration and use cases.

Where Salto IQ fits, and where it doesn’t
Best for
- Putting BLUEnet (and RFnet) locks online for real-time Salto KS / Nebula management
- Buildings needing live door status and remote opening
- Sites that want cellular fallback (SIM connectivity) on the full KS IQ hub
Not ideal for
- Offline data-on-card-only Salto Space deployments that do not need cloud
- Spread-out sites without a repeater and coverage plan
- Per-door sizing (gateways serve clusters of nearby locks, not single doors)

Things to think about
Gateways come in sizes; coverage is the design question
An IQ covers a cluster of nearby wireless locks. Match the model to the footprint (IQ3 Mini for a small area, KS IQ / IQ3 for a building) and plan repeaters and extra gateways for spread-out or multi-floor sites. The survey decides how many you need, not the door count alone.

Salto IQ: frequently asked
Is the Salto XS4 One good for high-traffic hotel doors?
Yes. XS4 One is a full ANSI mortise lock built for high-cycle guest-room and corridor doors. It runs roughly 60,000 openings per battery set, typically 24 to 36 months of service at hotel traffic. For very high-traffic main entrances it remains the right Salto choice over the compact XS4 Mini.
What is the difference between XS4 One and XS4 Mini?
They share the same credential stack (BLE, NFC, RFID, PIN), the same PMS integrations, and the same brand mobile-key compliance. XS4 One is a full mortise lock suited to high-traffic doors; XS4 Mini is a compact, indoor, lower-cost escutcheon best for value-tier and extended-stay rooms. When brand standards are silent and the door is high-traffic, XS4 One is the safer call.
Does XS4 One support Apple Wallet keys?
Yes. With 2024 firmware, XS4 One supports Apple Wallet room keys alongside BLE and NFC mobile credentials. RevKey confirms the exact firmware and brand mobile-key program your property is certified to before the order ships.
Can XS4 One be retrofitted onto existing doors?
On most doors with ANSI standard mortise prep, XS4 One drops in without millwork changes. If the door prep cannot be modified (occupied units, historic doors, custom millwork), a Neo cylinder swap is usually the better retrofit even though XS4 One is the stronger lock.
