Salto XS4 One.

XS4 One is Salto's compact, discreet escutcheon, the call when a door is narrow or the in-room look matters more than on a standard guest door. It is smaller and cleaner than XS4 Original+ while running the same credential stack (BLE and NFC mobile keys, RFID, PIN) and supporting brand mobile-key programs. It fits ANSI standard mortise prep, so it specs cleanly into new builds and many retrofits. We reach for XS4 One on narrow-profile doors and design-conscious select-service and boutique properties; for the broad, prep-covering default across a property, XS4 Original+ is usually the better base.

Where XS4 One fits, and where it doesn’t
Best for
- Branded hospitality guest-room doors (brand mobile-key programs)
- Full-service and select-service hotels with high daily door cycles
- New construction and retrofits where ANSI mortise prep is available
- Properties standardizing on one flagship lock across the floor plan
Not ideal for
- Cylinder-only retrofits where the door prep cannot change (use Neo)
- Fully exposed exterior gates and perimeter points (use Neoxx)
- Value-tier rooms where the compact XS4 Mini already meets the brand standard

Things to think about
Door prep is the real gate, not the lock
XS4 One needs ANSI mortise prep. On new construction or doors where prep can change, it drops in cleanly. On occupied units, historic doors, or custom millwork where you cannot modify the prep, Neo (a cylinder swap) is usually the better answer even though XS4 One is the stronger lock on paper.
Confirm the brand mobile-key program, not just "mobile keys"
XS4 One supports brand mobile-key programs, but each flag certifies specific firmware and credential stacks. Before you spec a fleet, confirm the exact program version your property is held to so the order ships pre-compliant rather than needing a firmware pass on site.
One lock across the floor plan vs. mixing tiers
Standardizing on XS4 One everywhere simplifies spares, training, and battery service. Many properties instead run XS4 One on premium and main-traffic floors and XS4 Mini on value-tier rooms. Both are valid; the trade is per-door cost against single-SKU simplicity.

XS4 One: frequently asked
Is the Salto XS4 One good for high-traffic hotel doors?
Yes. XS4 One is a full ANSI mortise lock built for high-cycle guest-room and corridor doors. It runs roughly 60,000 openings per battery set, typically 24 to 36 months of service at hotel traffic. For very high-traffic main entrances it remains the right Salto choice over the compact XS4 Mini.
What is the difference between XS4 One and XS4 Mini?
They share the same credential stack (BLE, NFC, RFID, PIN), the same PMS integrations, and the same brand mobile-key compliance. XS4 One is a full mortise lock suited to high-traffic doors; XS4 Mini is a compact, indoor, lower-cost escutcheon best for value-tier and extended-stay rooms. When brand standards are silent and the door is high-traffic, XS4 One is the safer call.
Does XS4 One support Apple Wallet keys?
Yes. With 2024 firmware, XS4 One supports Apple Wallet room keys alongside BLE and NFC mobile credentials. RevKey confirms the exact firmware and brand mobile-key program your property is certified to before the order ships.
Can XS4 One be retrofitted onto existing doors?
On most doors with ANSI standard mortise prep, XS4 One drops in without millwork changes. If the door prep cannot be modified (occupied units, historic doors, custom millwork), a Neo cylinder swap is usually the better retrofit even though XS4 One is the stronger lock.
