Salto Wireless Gateway.

The Wireless Gateway is the on-site bridge that takes Salto's wireless locks from data-on-card to real time. On a Salto Space (or Homelok) deployment, gateways connect BLUEnet or RFnet escutcheons and cylinders to the controller and the network, so access changes, blocklists, and live door status reach the lock over the air instead of waiting for the next card read. Each gateway includes an internal node and talks to a cluster of nearby locks; coverage across a building is a design exercise in gateways, nodes, and repeaters. It is the piece that makes real-time control and remote management possible without wiring every door. Mounted discreetly above ceilings or in corridors, a gateway needs only power and a network drop, so adding real-time capability to an existing offline deployment is largely a placement and survey exercise rather than a rewiring project. The housing comes in white or black to blend into the finished space.

Integrations
Wireless Gateway connects to hotel PMS, guest-journey, and check-in platforms through Salto’s integration ecosystem, which is extensive and updated frequently. Rather than freeze a partial list, we point you to Salto’s own directory for the current set.
Gateways are infrastructure for the Salto Space / Homelok network; integrations are handled by the management platform.

Where Wireless Gateway fits, and where it doesn’t
Best for
- Taking Salto Space / Homelok wireless locks from data-on-card to real time
- Over-the-air access updates and live door status without wiring every door
- Anchoring a wireless network alongside nodes and repeaters
Not ideal for
- Salto KS cloud sites (those use the IQ gateway)
- Coverage planning by door count rather than by survey
- Outdoor mounting (indoor device)

Things to think about
Coverage is designed, not counted
A gateway serves a cluster of nearby wireless locks. How many gateways, nodes, and repeaters a building needs depends on layout, wall construction, and distance, not just the number of doors. We size the wireless network at survey.

Wireless Gateway: frequently asked
Is the Salto XS4 One good for high-traffic hotel doors?
Yes. XS4 One is a full ANSI mortise lock built for high-cycle guest-room and corridor doors. It runs roughly 60,000 openings per battery set, typically 24 to 36 months of service at hotel traffic. For very high-traffic main entrances it remains the right Salto choice over the compact XS4 Mini.
What is the difference between XS4 One and XS4 Mini?
They share the same credential stack (BLE, NFC, RFID, PIN), the same PMS integrations, and the same brand mobile-key compliance. XS4 One is a full mortise lock suited to high-traffic doors; XS4 Mini is a compact, indoor, lower-cost escutcheon best for value-tier and extended-stay rooms. When brand standards are silent and the door is high-traffic, XS4 One is the safer call.
Does XS4 One support Apple Wallet keys?
Yes. With 2024 firmware, XS4 One supports Apple Wallet room keys alongside BLE and NFC mobile credentials. RevKey confirms the exact firmware and brand mobile-key program your property is certified to before the order ships.
Can XS4 One be retrofitted onto existing doors?
On most doors with ANSI standard mortise prep, XS4 One drops in without millwork changes. If the door prep cannot be modified (occupied units, historic doors, custom millwork), a Neo cylinder swap is usually the better retrofit even though XS4 One is the stronger lock.
