It fits a wide range of door standards (ANSI, Euro, DIN, Scandinavian) and is built to replace existing hardware, so it drops onto doors coming off Onity, Saflok, or VingCard about as cleanly as it specs into a new build. The Wide Body escutcheon is the workhorse trim: a broad plate that covers existing door prep on retrofits and reads as a clean, intentional install on new doors. It runs the full Salto credential stack (BLE and NFC mobile keys, RFID, PIN) and supports brand mobile-key programs. When a project has no specific reason to go compact or design-forward, XS4 Original+ is the call.

Things to think about
The Wide Body trim is the retrofit workhorse
On a migration off Onity, Saflok, or VingCard, the Wide Body escutcheon is a broad plate sized to cover the holes and wear the old lock leaves behind, so most doors take the new lock without new millwork. Confirm the existing prep at survey, but in practice the Wide Body is what lets XS4 Original+ drop onto so many existing doors.
Equally at home on new construction
XS4 Original+ is not a retrofit-only or modernization-only lock. It is a current, full-feature hotel lock that specs into new builds just as often, which is why it is the default unless a door calls for the compact XS4 One or the design-forward Aelement Fusion.

Often not. XS4 Original is firmware-upgradeable to BLE and NFC, so many existing fleets can move to mobile keys without replacing every lock body. An installer can confirm your generation and the exact upgrade path at the lock head before you commit to any hardware.
