Salto Salto Wall Reader.

Salto wall readers are the wall-mounted readers that live next to access points that are not doors: pool gates, fitness rooms, business centers, meeting rooms, elevator access control, parking gates, and any restricted amenity floor. Wall readers pair with the same Salto credential stack as your room or unit locks (XS4 One, XS4 Mini, Aelement Fusion, Neo, DBolt), which means one credential per guest, resident, or staff member governs access to every reader on the property. Readers come in design and glass-mount variants and are selected based on environmental requirements (indoor/outdoor, IP rating, surface mount or flush mount). We install wall readers as a companion to guest-room and unit installs at resorts and multifamily properties.

Integrations
Salto Wall Reader connects to hotel PMS, guest-journey, and check-in platforms through Salto’s integration ecosystem, which is extensive and updated frequently. Rather than freeze a partial list, we point you to Salto’s own directory for the current set.
Wall readers run on the same credential and integrations as the companion Salto room locks.

Where Salto Wall Reader fits, and where it doesn’t
Best for
- Amenity and common-area access: pools, fitness, business centers, meeting rooms
- Elevator and restricted-floor access control
- Parking gates and mail rooms under one resident or guest credential
- Surface or flush mount, with design and glass face variants
Not ideal for
- Standalone door locking (a reader needs a controller plus a lock or strike)
- Battery-only installs where running low-voltage wiring is not possible
- Single-door projects better served by a self-contained electronic lock

Things to think about
A reader is a companion, not a standalone lock
A wall reader controls a non-door access point: it reads the credential and talks to a controller, which drives a lock, strike, gate, or elevator relay. Plan it as part of a system (reader plus controller plus the thing it releases), not as a one-piece door lock like XS4 One or Neo.
Wired install, indoor or outdoor
Wall readers are low-voltage wired and come in surface or flush mount, with design and glass face variants and indoor or outdoor versions. Selection is driven by the environment and the mounting surface, so confirm the location and whether wiring can reach it during the survey.

Salto Wall Reader: frequently asked
What does a Salto wall reader do?
A wall reader controls a non-door access point: pool and fitness gates, elevators, parking, mail rooms, and meeting spaces. It reads the same Salto credential as your room and unit locks and talks to a controller, which releases the lock, strike, gate, or elevator relay. One credential per guest, resident, or staff member governs every reader on the property.
Is a wall reader a standalone lock?
No. A reader is a companion device. It needs a controller and the hardware it releases (a lock, strike, gate, or elevator relay), so plan it as part of a system rather than a one-piece door lock.
Are Salto wall readers indoor or outdoor, and how are they powered?
They come in indoor and outdoor versions and in surface or flush mount, with design and glass face variants. They are low-voltage wired, so there are no batteries to service; confirm during the survey that wiring can reach the location.
